“Leather beading is created the same way as fabric piping–a textile wrapped around a cord. Beading is used on an edge to decorate and disguise the leather edge; on cowboy boots it’s typically used at the top of the boot and/or on the boot pulls.
Side welt is similar to beading, and it’s used in the side seams of cowboy boots to protect and cover the side seam stitches.”
