What I love about this book (being a fledging with Boot makings) is the history of tools. You may be confused which tools you need when beginning but this book shows you tools needed. There are no different gimmicks but just plain and simple.
You can make a list from the descriptions given and obtain those tools from someone who may have many different forms. This books really helps you see what was what and how its pretty much the same.
I enjoyed looking through the pages and finding items I did not know existed, like the “inside Nailing device.” The catalog covers the most popular items ordered from the company, so you get a feel of what shoe/boot-makers at that time felt were necessary. This is “GOLD” when you aren’t sure what’s needed.
Great book for a collection.
